WordPress 6.0 CMS Released 6.0 of the content management system WordPress, which, according to the statistics service W³Techs, is used to operate more than 43% of all websites and this blog as well, was released. For websites that are built with a CMS, the market share is even over 65%. The codename “Arturo” honors jazz musician Arturo O’Farrill .
The second major release of the current year after WordPress 5.9 has a total of almost 1,000 new features and bug fixes, as the official announcement explains. One focus of the improvements is on the Gutenberg block editor, which is still not universally loved, and there in particular on Full Site Editing (FSE). This should enable developers and web designers to create websites entirely with Gutenberg blocks.
Block editor improvements
A useful improvement for authors is that you can now select, copy and paste text from multiple blocks. Internal linking has been improved and allows after entering two [[ access a list of recent posts and pages. Styles can now be preserved when changing the type of blocks, such as from paragraph block to code block.
WordPress 6.0 includes five new block theme templates: Author, Date, Categories, Tag and Taxonomy. These additional templates offer more flexibility and can be customized with existing and new tools. New featured image size controls make it easier to get the results you want.

Block theme authors get new design tools. New keyboard shortcuts make it possible to select multiple blocks in the list view, change them and move them within the list. The list view can be easily opened and closed; it is collapsed by default and will automatically expand to the current selection when a block is selected. Website designers can decide whether their customers can move or delete blocks, or whether these options should be locked.
Screwed on the performance
This release also includes several updates focused on improving WordPress performance. These improvements cover a number of performance areas, including improving page and post load times, reducing execution time for various query types, caching, navigation menus, and more.
