An experimental branch of the open implementation of WinAPI – Wine 6.21 has been released . Since the release of version 6.20, 26 bug reports have been closed and 415 changes have been made.
The most important changes:
- WinSpool, GPhoto and some other modules have been converted to PE (Portable Executable) format.
- DbgHelp has improved support for inline functions.
- The implementation of the OLE DB provider MSDASQL has begun . Closed bug reports related to the work of games: Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Hitman: Sniper Challenge, Sniper Elite series, Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster, Homesick, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, Riot Vanguard, Memento Mori, Rise of Legends, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 6, Skyrim SE, games powered by Unreal Engine 4.
- Closed error reports related to the operation of applications: Aero Glass, Affinity Designer 1.x, Astrotoaster, Gaea-1.0.16.8020, easyHDR 3.13.0, SimIon, BlueSkyPlan, Home Designer Suite 21.3.1.1, Samsung SDK 1.2.2 for Java ME, Internet Explorer 8.
Additionally, we can note the formation of the release of the project Wine Staging 6.21 , within which extended Wine assemblies are formed, including incompletely finished or risky patches that are not yet suitable for adoption into the main Wine branch. Compared to Wine, Wine Staging provides 558 additional patches.

The new release provides synchronization with the Wine 6.21 codebase. 5 patches related to the implementation of the uiautomationcore DLL, handling mouse movement in winex11.drv, adding critsection.c to ntdll and a test suite for ntdll have been transferred to the main Wine composition. Updated patches user32-rawinput-mouse . A patch has been added that attaches the “.exe” string to the mask in case of an unsuccessful search in the registry.
